Canada Or America ? which is better ?
Answer:
I've travelled extensively in both countries and if I had to pick between those two, I'd pick Canada.
* Socialised (it's not a dirty word) universal health care.
* Lower crime rates - Mainly due to a better social safety net to protect the most vulnerable, but gun laws help, too.
* More tolerant of diversity.
* 50 week maternity leave.
* Better public education system.
I could go on, but that would be rubbing it in.
ETA: All this talk about the long wait time in Canada is utter rubbish. No, the system isn't perfect - especially if you live in an isolated or very rural area. (How is that different in the U.S.?) I have friends in both countries. My friends in Canada have described their experiences with the health care system and are mostly pleased with it. My friends in the U.S. talk about whether they can afford to have another child *just because of the medical costs* or how they can't afford to start their own business because they would lose their medical coverage or how they worry whether this or that treatment will be covered by their insurance. I even know one who *bought a house* in Canada and moved his (Canadian) wife and children there when his wife was diagnosed with cancer. It was cheaper than getting treatment in the U.S. AND he was covered by medical insurance through his employer.
Despite the fact that my brother's girlfriend and, hopefully, my future sister-in-law is from Ottawa, the US is far better.
all I know is Canada has better health care.
US all the way.
Healthcare-US
Education-Even
Standard of Living-US
Canada has better health care
I hate to say it But the US is one of the stupidest countries out there but it has a better standard of living
Im not sure because I don't know too much about Canada. But from what I hear Canada sounds like a place that I would rather be a citizen of than America. The people seem to be so much happier and friendlier. I much admit I am acustomed to american food.
That's' a hard ? I've travel Canada a lot almost every major city and all I have to do is look south and I can see America they must really like us and want to be close
Well being from the US I am biased but I think it's pretty clear we've got the canadiens beat. As far as health care goes, anyone in this country who did some research into the mess the canadien socialist health care system has become would be pretty sure that it is not a good idea.
i don't know much about Canada so i can't say its a bad place to live, but i <3 living in the US!
America has the highest quality of living in the world, a much more diverse climate, and had great colleges/universities.
well Canada it is the best country to live for medicare and for better standard of living because it is the largest country in the world in square mil or kl. and a very small population. as for education there is no difference between Canada and USA both country has the worse education in the world because all the schools are controlled by the union.
Socialist healthcare system? Are you kidding me buddy? It seems to me that many Americans wear their misplaced patriotism like a badge of entitlement, yet are selectively blind about the fact that people can't afford to go to the doctor, or worse, take their sick child to the doctor! When my son is sick, I don't think twice about it, I don't need to stop at the bank, I don't have to go to a "special" lower standard hospital. Anyway, I've realized Americans will think what they will, but in Canada, our healthcare is free, our post secondary education/university is much lower cost because its subsidized by the government (read: education and healthcare for ALL, not just the rich) and having lived in Canada my whole life and visited the states many times, I've concluded that our standard of living is higher (and is listed as higher on most objective international surverys). America has a much higher crime rate and is full of racists and white supremacists. O Canada, you could NEVER get me to live in the US (Europe, maybe, but never US).
The United States of America for obvious reasons.
America is the place to go. Socialized medicine is worth what you pay for it. All the talk, but notice which Country,
everyone is trying to get into.
Who are these idiots saying Canada has a better health care system? Canadians have to come to the U.S. to get timely treatment. People in Canada with treatable cancer die waiting to see the doctor. Want to see a specialist in Canada ... forget it. Oh, I see you're thinking in hypotheticals ... everyone is covered, so IF you could see a good doctor ... it could be better.
Depends on what you want from life. If you are driven by ambition, want to work hard to realize your dreams while willing to live in a more cuttroat "dog-eat-dog" environment, America is your choice. If you want to have a better life without any extraordinary efforts, Canada is the one.
USA is better in all aspects!!
They're about the same.
Education is pretty much a tie.
The US has better quality Health Care, paid for by insurance premiums and hospital bills.
Canada has state run health care, paid for by higher taxes.
Standard of living is pretty much identical.
They're both great countries, but if I had to choose one.. I'd take the US. Because Canada is just too damn cold.
America, My family is here...LOL :) Just kidding dear!! We rock thats why!No more needs to be said:)
As a Canadian with family in the US, my answer is the US.
Healthcare.US hands down. My family in the US would not give up their US healthcare for anything in Canada. A family member making just over minimum wage had a better health plan for cheaper then anything I could buy in Canada.
Education...Canada, only because in the early years it is more world focused and not country focused.
Places to visit.the US, mainly because it seems to celebrate its history and places better.
Okay, let me change my answer..live in the US, but have 2 passports!!
