Workers sue U.S. factory after immigration raid what do you think?

BOSTON (Reuters) - Workers including 361 illegal immigrants were cheated of hundreds of thousands of dollars in overtime pay at a factory at the center of a high-profile raid in Massachusetts, according to a lawsuit filed on Tuesday.
The class-action lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Boston on behalf of 500 workers, follows a raid by federal immigration agents on March 6 that drew criticism of the Bush administration' s immigration policy and brought national attention to the perils facing undocumented workers.
Dozens of children were stranded when 361 workers at Michael Bianco Inc., which makes equipment and apparel for the U.S. military, were arrested by federal agents in New Bedford, a port city about 55 miles south of Boston.
Many of the immigrants were initially held at a decommissioned Army base in Massachusetts before being flown to Texas.

California's supreme court ruled it is legal for illegal aliens to sue employers for back wages (lack of minimum wage, overtime, breaks, etc).
There are going be tens of thousands of lawsuits against companies if amnesty is given.
They don't pay taxes, they come here illegally, they take jobs from Americans, they cost us millions in healthcare and social programs, and I'm supposed to care if they didn't get their overtime pay when they got caught?. What exactly do I compare this with? Should we pay a thief the balance of what they stole is worth if he/she is caught? Make the company pay the money to Social Security.

Well, they are illegal . . . I'm more concerned about a government contractor intentionally breaking Federal law. Why aren't they being sued by the Attorney General? You would thing our government would at least be able to enforce the law on their own contracts.

Illegal immigration also contributes to the dramatic population growth overwhelming communities across America--crowding school classrooms, consuming already limited affordable housing, and straining precious natural resources like water, energy, and forestland. Taxpayers are being forced to pay for the free health care, education, and other welfare programs being given to illegal aliens; Those tax dollars could be given back to U.S. taxpayers or used to keep our borders secure; They may be here illegally, but they sure know how to "work the system" to collect "free" medical care, "free" education, "free" food, Section 8 housing vouchers and other housing assistance, and hundreds of other social services. It costs citizens additional hundreds of billions of tax dollars at every level: local, state, and federal. It gobbles up billions of our charitable contributions. And much of that money ends up siphoned out of our economy and into offshore accounts. Illegal aliens, over half of whom work "under the table" with neither job nor income reported (nor taxed), are not counted as employed or unemployed. But some of those day-labor and off-the-books "job-lets" would be "real" jobs - available to American citizen job-seekers - if employment regulations were enforced. Illegal aliens can get away with tax evasion, et al., which citizens cannot. In short, we have too many workforce entrants and too few jobs created. The ratio works out to roughly 7-10 workforce entrants per job created. If all illegal aliens depart or are deported, all legal immigration halted, and all temporary employment visas abolished, we still have a problem with more US-born workforce entrants than new jobs created. Illegal immigration damages our country and our citizens every day at every level. And not even the attacks of 2/26 and 9/11 have awakened many Americans to the vast dangers illegal immigration poses to our selves, our families, our communities, our society, our values, our principles, our civilization. Zero Tolerance for Immigration-Law Violators! We must remember the lessons of 2/26, 9/11, and the costs we bear every single day. God Bless the U S A !
i like seeing numbers like that getting caught and deported, they shouldn't have their families in a criminal situation in the first place!!! and illegals are making things for our servicemen? that's disgusting in it's self!!! i hope they start doing crack downs like that all over the country!!!
First what they should do is make the employers pay the illegals their just salary. regardless of status they deserve compensation for their labor. Second the government should fine the factory 20times the amount owed to the illegals in fines and to defer the cost of lost taxes for employing illegals. It is time we started going after corporations that knowingly hire illegals because they are just as bad if not worse than the illegals themselves.
A group of people who broke a federal law are suing another group of people for breaking a federal law.
I think that as illegals they should not expect our court systems to uphold the laws they like just for them. That company should be fined heavily for knowingly employing illegals. I do not feel bad they were deported so swiftly though. That is a risk they take in coming into this country illegally.
I do not think illegal aliens should be able to sue the federal government, they have not earned that right through legal citizenship.
Having said that I also do not believe illegal aliens should become slaves, business is the only winner in the illegal immigration issue - most illegals work for little or nothing with no benefits and get no overtime and work under deplorable conditions but can not complain because they are illegal.
Big business must be stopped, they are abusing the US taxpayers for slave labor.
$$$$ is the only reason all of this happens, but I still do not think that illegal aliens should be allowed to sue the federal government (at taxpayers expense of course) but I do think that the company should be shut down and fined and the owners put in prison.
It's a shame that if illegal aliens do something wrong... like murder, steal or even break into our country illegally, before we can catch them, they will run back to their home country so that we can't sue or send them to prison. What the heck is wrong with our government. The U.S. needs to get their priorities straight!!!
In short,,Too bad.They took the risk of coming here an jeopardizing their children in the first place , so , why is this a shocker to them??I am sure their kids were not thrown out on the sidewalk .
These workers are in the U. S. ILLEGALLY. There is no fair or unfair to it. They must be deported. Their children should be reunited with them before deportation. Other than that, they have no recourse.
I wonder how much lost pay bank robbers can get for the period of time that they are in jail?
I think it is ridiculous, if they are talking about time lost due to the raid.
i personally do not see where they should be allowed to sue the company after all Mass is not Calif so a law passed in Calif which is mostly illegals anyhow would be no good in Boston, what happened to the hard working just come over for a better life and do not care what the laws of america are they do not apply to me attitude, or the if i get in serious trouble in US all I need do is go back across the border and come back as someone else, no do not feel the least bit of sympathy for anyone that gets caught breaking the law the only bad thing about this one is the federal government is not taking away the contracts from this company because of this as well as their license to operate a business
it's a bunch of crap. they are only doing that because they got caught. all lies. i don't think they should get anything because they are illegal and they have no rights to this country. i like to know when is bush going to wake up and build the fence?
