Does anyone knows why US immigrations takes so long to approve US Citizenship process?
Answer:
the USA accepts more legalized immigrants yearly than all other countries combined.
more people wish to move to the USA than to other countries so someone gotta wait in line and of course that takes awhile
because the people who are working in that part don't really give much of a damn.
That is why they are raising the fee, to hire more people. The FBI does other things and I read that they had two people who did immigration background checks when the computer threw out a name. I can't swear that is true, but I did read it.
...because they can. government agencies are notorious for being bureaucracies. Have you hired an immigration lawyer? that might expedite the process.
Honestly, due to the massive influx of immigrants (illegal or otherwise) the process takes a bit of time...HOWEVER, if you have applied, you are moving in the right direction.
"Still pending" is better than being a law-breaker - pass that information on.
There are probably hundreds of thousands of people throughout the world who would love the chance to immigrate here in your place. Of course we can't allow everyone entry who wants it or we would be another 3rd world country. The overwhelming majority of citizens, when told of our current population (300+ million) and told that we are growing faster then at any time in history, want LESS immigration rather then more.
You need to be patient and do it the right way.
I'm sure in time you will get an answer the main thing is that you are doing something about it, and I say hurray for you
Because it's being taken care of by the GOVERNMENT.
Governments and government workers have no incentive to be efficient because they've got no legal competition. They can take as long as they feel like and their "customers" can't go to a competitor to get better service. Remember this the next time someone talks about how great it would be if we had government-run health care.
A lot of people are in the same boat. This is because FBI can't keep pace with the volume of immigration cases. I don't think the fee increase will help with this because the fee allocation is to DHS not to DOJ as far as I know.
One avenue to explore with an attorney: the law actually requires that a decision be made by Immigration on a Naturalization case after the interview within 120 days.
GASP. USCIS is not complying with the law!! They are criminals! Illegal means illegal. sorry, back to reality...
Because they are not complying with the timeframe, many people have succesfully filed writs of mandamus in federal court to force action. Practitioners disagree on whether to go after USCIS alone or to join the FBI in the writ. Often these are settled and decided prior to actually having ot argue the case before the judge.
All of this, of course, costs money.
EDIT: And yes, it's been done before.
I share your pain.
The explanation is very simple.Illegal immigration is hurting legal immigrants and your case is just one of the worst impact of it. Your case is not a priority. You are not the only telling the story. My uncle is an attorney.
Most legal immigrants that i know are in favor of total amnesty for illegal immigrants. The people i am talking about do not know better how things work in the US.
legal immigrants will pay for the illegals'crime whatever way possible in the present and future time. It is just a matter of the market principle (capitalism) Not enough jobs and benefit fr the surplus that illegal immigration bring in the equation. if amnesty is given , legal immigrants will be bankrupt within 4 to 5 years. in simple words, newly amnistied illegals would bargain at any wage level to get your job. illegal immigration is a way to get to the country by shortcuting those waiting overseas to get their documents processed legally. Because of illegal immigration, both legal and illegal must pay.
Someone has to pay for someone else crime.
work your mind, i am sure you already know what to do. no need to hire attorney. too much pain already.
