Business currently pay illegals under the table to avoid payroll taxes. Why would they want amnesty then?

I heard a possible reason why businesses want amnesty and are willing to pay Congress to get it.

Currently there is lots of talk about cracking down on employers of the illegals. They are feeling the heat. (Apartment owners are concerned about a crackdown on them for renting to illegals.)

Basically the businesses are scared of possible local laws hurting them. They would rather have amnesty and pay more for their workers so they can claim they only "hire legal workers." What do you think?

Answer:
LOL I heard about this on John and Ken!! It makes sense!!

I truly think they are afraid of local government passing laws and taking matters into their own hands.
I think amnesty SUCKS period, dot.
Just by having amnesty isn't necessarily going to raise wages either. People accuse illegals of driving down wages and that may or may not be true, but one thing is for sure is that whether they round them up and kick them out or grant them amnesty is not going to have an immediate effect on wages.

Now that the wages are down for unskilled labor, they will most likely stay that way for a long time. People have gotten used to low wages, poor healthcare, crappy social security and being forever in debt. Since the labor laws have basically been gutted and it doesn't seem that the electorate cares that much the fact of the matter is that the damage has already been done.

Now, you can blame the illegal immigrants if you want but one thing is for sure...if Tyson and others wouldn't give them jobs, they wouldn't be coming here in the first place.

Anyway, big industry that hires illegals don't have anything more to gain from it, so why not support amnesty? They get to look like nice guys.
Big business is favoring this bill because it really doesn't do anything as far as increasing legal enforcement of immigration laws, it doesn't demand a road to citizenship or even assimilation into the culture, it allows illegals to become pseudo-legal (thereby eliminating the risk of fines to business for hiring illegals), and it starts the cycle again to the next amnesty bill in about 10 years.

What's not to like?
I think I don't know.

Now a small message to you: white Latin Americans are not "transplants" from Europe. 25% of Latin American populations is transplant from Europe? We live here for more than 500 years. I seriously advice you to be a more educated person.
