Also why do the states make it so hard to immigrate over there, i could undertand asian countrys (no racism intended) but why so hard for the people from the UK, we are ment be like brothers.

If you can get a job here, your employer will get a green card. Once you have the green card, you're on track for citizenship unless you commit a crime.
You could come over on a student visa, then get an American girl to marry you--mission accomplished.
DONT! One of my friends immigrated here from the UK by marrying a citzen. They screwed up his paperwork and now he is in a detention center for their mistake. I was born in the US and I am planning on getting out before its to late. It is becoming a police state nightmare just like England.

Fly to either Mexico or Canada and just walk across the border. You will soon be authorized support from our government, with one small problem, you already speak English.

If you're really so intent on coming here, marriage to a U.S. citizen would be a good bet, but remember that the main thing coming into consideration is how valuable you are to the American work force, and while remembering that, take into consideration the massive unemployment rate; we have too many workers, skilled and unskilled, so unless you have occupational skills that are deemed valuable to the progress of the nation's economy, then your chances are slim. Also, one of the main barriers is just a whole load of bureaucratic red-tape bullshit. Don't feel sorry for your self, because this country is in the progress of shipping a civil rights activist who has been of immense value to the progress of the Latino-American community back to El Salvador, where he will doubtlessly be murdered on the spot for defying the nation's leaders in speeches he's made.

Can't you get a job sponsor? I understand it is a timing game, you have to basically apply by April 2 this year to get one or they H1Bs will all be gone for the year.
I'd totally rewrite our immigration if I could. It is family based and once we gave amnesty to a few million in 1986 their family took up quite a lot of the available visas. I think we need to limit family preferences to spouse and minor children so we can let in others who might have more to offer.
Also, if you weren't in the EU it would be different, but if you had ability to come automatically so would all of they....
