How hard would it be to obtain a Green Card...?
Answer:
Getting a green card for the united states is done by random lottery from your county. You need to apply and hope your name is picked, then you and your immediat family can come live here. You may have to try a few times.
It's a process that begins with a visa. Contact the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).
Unless you win the green card lottery, you can't just "get a green card". You need to secure a job in the USA, and then get a visa to come and work... there are many different visas, you have to find the one that fits your line of work... most of them are the H visas (H1B is common for professional workers). Once you have a visa, you can usually secure visas for your immediate family, but this confers no right to work on them, just the right to enter the country with you. Once you've entered the country and started working, then you have to convince your employer to file for your green card... this is a long and costly experience, so you've probably got to work for them for a couple of years before they'll be willing to do this.
Then the really fun part starts... from beginning to end, getting a green card takes anywhere between 2 and 4 years. You can pretty much count on a 6-7 year wait from the time you decide to move to the states to actually having residency.
Me and my husband have obtained quite easily a green card 2 years ago after applying here:
