Can we do this to end Illegal Immigration?
Don't we need to put our bets on the table here folks? Do we want nandy pandy maybe this maybe that or do we want surety and decissiveness and a strong commintment to end the influx and presence of illegal people in this country?

I do and have been doing that. I follow-up with every vote on everything. They know people are watching. Their free ride, no questions asked, is comming to an end. They may not do what we ask but we have to exercise our ability to do so. They are constantly trying to filter out our rights little by little and you have to stay on them every day and make sure they don't. If letters didn't matter we wouldn't have come as far as we have. It atleast brings the issues to public debate. Maybe if we would have been as diligent in the follow-up with the last amnesty......we wouldn't be here now. We dropped the ball and "forgot" about it. I know my letters fall on deaf ears with some of my reps. So I work more with those who are on my side of an issue and ask them what I can do to help. It also helps to work in the local level. More is getting done there in alot of areas. Most are sadly at a standstill.......but it's out there and the fight isn't over. I just know I will not sit back and do nothing. I can't have the attitude that's it's just too big of a thing to change. Maybe they will give them amnesty......it's still not over. But there's plenty of other issues directly related to it that I will fight for. There will be an additional "cleaning house" on the next election as well. It's baby steps. I mean if they say poof amnesty.....it's not a done deal. If they say poof, no amnesty......it's not over either.
I figure they hope to keep everyone diverted in 1000 different directions to where we'll tire and not keep paying attention to things. I for one am not.
I know I will not vote for anyone who supports amnesty in any way shape or form.

A public stand is definitely needed. But leters usually never get read by the congressman so....
I will only vote for someone that makes a firm stance against illegal immigration. I feel that it shows character and that he is devoted to making this country a better place.

Easy. The international Community should help the poorer nations to get their acto together especially by encouraging good leaders and shunning the corrupt ones. That way, the poorer countries will become richer and people will not feel the need to have to leave. I think most people leave their situations of poverty out of desperation -- so just make these countries less desperate places to live in and illegal immigration will fall like an figure skater with a bad landing.

Letters won't work because they don't listen. They haven't worked regarding the boarder patrol agents that are wrongly in federal prison for filing bad paperwork and shooting a drug smuggler in the butt. Emails are a total waste of time because they are treated as trash and never seen - my daughter works for a congressman.

Happy days are here again! I heard that we get another chance for a boycott from the illegal Mexicans. May 1st they are planning a protest and will DEMAND that the deportations stop. You know you have a good point. But.... Even if we do this as you have stated. Who's to say they change their mind when in office to go for the popular vote. You know when politicians run for office they make alot of promises and never come through. Or when you ask them a straight right question they talk around the answer without giving a yes or no answer. You are on the right track but how do we get them to be honest and forthright?
Also included with the illegal immigration let's talk about their language. When our forefathers came to this country, they came from Germany, Ireland, Scotland etc... The international language was English, but now everything you buy has Spanish, Chinese and all these other languages printed to read directions etc. Whatever happened to English as our International Language? It all stems back to the liberalists having to be politically correct. We need a leader that doesn't care about politically correctness they need to do what is best for our country, also when the illegals came to our country our crime rate went up at least 200% which needs to be controlled also. First of all nothing will end illegal immigration. Ever hear of the old saying "where there is a will, there is a way". People who want in this country bad enough will find that way.
Second of all I know many people who are american citizens, their husbands are illegal and have paperwork pending for an interview with immigration. a call to their senator and congressman gets much accomplished so it just goes to show, that our senators, congressman, and yes even pres. elects are willing to help those who all of you are so wiling to crucify.

There is no way to end illegal immigration. Everyone will have to just deal with it.
I mean lets be honest. We all know that the average americans voice will do nothing to ease this problem with illegal immigration. Hell, our votes really don't even count. Its really up to the people in power to actually do something about it. When they do something about it, its in little subtle ways. A raid here, a big bust there. It's going to take something drastic to open their eyes to see how big this problem is. After that, then everyone will scramble to find a solution.
There wont be any amnesty its just political bs. Just by being counted in the census, illegals give political power to special groups. Many illegals fraudulently vote anyway and there is strong evidence that some key elections have been upset by illegal voters. Politicians represent the "people" even if those people are illegal aliens. Since the number of representatives in congress is fixed, any increase in population in California, for example, due to illegal immigration will require more representation for that group while taking away representation from people in other states. Most politicians that represent areas of large illegal population, vote in the interest of illegal aliens since they are the ones they represent. I havent heard any legal citizens say they want amnesty for illegals.That would be asking for a civil war. I have sent letters to senators,and the president. I dont think they even read them,but I have noticed just since the dems won mid term elections alot more people are concerned about the illegals in this country. I for one voted dems just to wake Bush up,But I will vote rebublican in 2008. I think thats the case for alot of people.
Sort of, Illegal immigration has been a problem for decades and American people have been complaining about it for decades, so why can't the government do what they promise and deal with it?? Answer: they want the illegal's votes. What we NEED to do is everyone(everyone against illegal immigration)needs to send a letter to their senator and every other person in authority every week about how discusted we are with how they are dealing with it(the immigration problem), that's what I'm going to do once I turn 18. No, I don't hate illegal immigrants, but I am strongly against them invading America instead of trying to better their own government. (yes, this is a copy-paste thing I've been doing, but I feel strongly about what I feel.)
