Imigration reform? or, no imigration reform?
Answer:
I am pro-immigration reform. That way all the people who are illegal will now be forced to pay taxes (which many of you bitc* about). If they prove to us that they deserve it, why not? (no criminals, no people on government aid)
Immigration reform without amnesty and no weight for family ties and no benefits for anchor babies!
I am for Reform. At least people will be able to come out of the shadows and we can know who is in this country. Majority of illegals are not criminals like some people on here believe. And I am sick of the argument "Illegal means illegal"
I don't think it should get passed in present form.
I don't think we'll ever see a compromise on immigration reform until ALL states enact the same laws. The laws state to state vary too much concerning this issue. My state Wisconsin has much tougher laws than California. So it's just confusing citizens when we try to debate these issues with any sense. How can we ever agree on a National level when the states individually don't?
We don't need new laws. We need our current laws enforced!
Bush's speech today was nauseating! (I could only stomach a little!) He was right about one thing though, the 1986 bill hasn't worked. However what he didn't say was that it didn't work because the law wasn't enforced.
What really got me were the lies/misinformation he told about the Senate's piece of crap. He CLAIMED that all the illegals will pay a fine - not true. Only the ones that apply for citizenship. He said they have to pay back taxes - again not true since that part as taken out due to La Raza's input.
Either he's la liar or he doesn't know what he's helping to shove down our throats!
BTW, anybody that thinks that making the illegals legal and that they will have to start paying taxes has their head in the sand. There is a little thing called EIC - "Earned Income tax Credit." If a taxpayer has really low income, and lots of kids (AKA the illegals), they get a tax credit that goes against their tax liability, which is probably zero anyway.
HOWEVER, this is FREE MONEY. While it is an offset to tax, they still get the credit. For example, tax credit is $500. Taxes owed are zero. The "taxpayer" gets a refund of $500! In other words we are paying for them. They still don't pay into the system. Their SS & MC tax ar minimual due to their income level. WE STILL GET SCEREWED!
All we need to do is enforce the laws we have now.
I agree with one thing, immigrant reduction! I want these people who come over here llegally to get the hell out of here because we don't need you here. We have enough problems without them over here!
you need immigration reform as much as you need border security. you need to have more visas out there, more visas so people can come here and work legally. we need to get all those illegals out of the shadows so we can know who is who. kick anyone who has committed a crime out of here and give those who have work experience, education or are in progress of going to school the right to stay here. finally we need to secure our borders and punish those who still hire illegals after all this has being done. So in other words i am for the Reform
I am for it, imagine how many programs can be funded with all the fines they have to pay. One thing I dont agree with is the head of the household leaving. It is stupid, why are they going to leave than come back. Who is going to support their family?
I am totally for it. If anyone says otherwise, I dont even argue with them anymore as it is pointless.
