Is it true that Georgia County Health Departments cannot ask about someones citizenship or legal status?
Answer:
That's not just a GA thing, it's country-wide.
is nation-wide
Say it is not true, but sadly more than likely it is. We need to keep pointing out that it is only free to the illegals, we the tax payer picks up the tab
I agree, its nation-wide, to some point.
Hmmm and who instituted the law to protect illegals from receiving such healthcare, could it be social services? The fact is, no county hospital can refuse medical care, everyone gets treated, regardless of status..
It is true and it is totally ridiculous.
Go into a hospital with a gunshot or knife wound and see how fast the hospital calls the cops to come investigate.
Why should it be any different with an illegal? Not saying that the hospital should not treat them because they are, afterall, human.
Only with illegals do local law enforcement look the other way. When it comes to any other law they enforce it, whether it be local, state, or federal. When it comes to immigration law they say "not my job" man.
They CAN enforce immigration law IF they receive special training. They can enforce ANY OTHER Federal law without special training. How ridiculous is that?
The fact is we have laws on the books that prohibit illegal immigration and then we have laws, policies, and procedures that encourage it like our don't ask and don't tell policies.
We need to get our laws, policies, and procedures in concert with one another. They should complement one another, not contradict.
