Why do some people think that a credible path to citizenship for illegals would be to serve in the military ?

What if, what if, what if. What if Mexico wanted to attack us and their immigrants were the insiders? Should we also allow them into our military (without being a citizen, having had to wait in line to become an American) and give them immediate access to our secrets and defense? I think not.
We don't allow criminals in the military anymore. In fact I don't think you can get in without a high school education either. Illegal immigrants are criminals that shouldn't be here and definitely shouldn't be in our military.
well, that would prove that they are loyal to the country and willing to die for it
i suppose it's a step forward in most people's eyes that are against illegal immigrants
There is illegals that serve the Military now as we speak!
It proves a desire to contribute to the country. In the old days we used to give criminals here the choice of prison or the armed forces. Most came out of the military with a better sense of self and contributed to the country.
Who said criminals?But I think anyone who would like to join should be allowed.After all North America is comprised of 3 countries.What would happen if one of those countries were to fall into the hands of our enemies?Look at where both borders are how would the USA remain a stable country if Canada or Mexico became a terrorist state?We'd be up a creek without a paddle.
