Who don you contact in England for confirmation of a non-criminal record?
Answer:
Go to any police station and ask for a PNC (Police National Computer) check. It costs £10.
Contact the Police Force in England.
You have to pay about £10 or so but they can have a copy of any convictions sent to you.
I know this because my job has a high security rating and we all have to do this when we start.

Try Disclosure Scotland, its quicker than in England telephone 08706096006 for application form, it cost around £30.00 for basic disclosure and dearer for full disclosure, if you do have a criminal record several years ago it will be on it and be listed as served. Full disclosure will be needed if working with money or children.
There is a site online that you can apply to.. it links to the Criminal Records Bureau.. If you lived in England.. you need to apply to them.. If you lived in Scotland.. It's Disclosure Scotland you can apply to.. they similarly are online.. Just Google them.
I think you will have a shock at the price tho.. I have just had to get a CRB check done for working in care.. and in England it costs £36.00. It cost me a lot less when I lived in Scotland for a Disclosure.. around £15.00.
Good luck..
