Do you get the US citizenship if you marry to someone with green card?
I know if you marry to a US citizen, then it's easy to get the US citizenship? but i don't know if the same would apply to someone with green card?
Answer:
It's possible, but much harder and the process takes much longer. When marrying or married to a U.S. citizen, the process is easier and considerably faster.
I know someone who came to this country as an illegal, was able to obtain her GREEN CARD(permanent residency) and eventually became a U.S. citizen and was not married to a U.S. citizen. Therefore it IS possible.

No.
A person with a green card is NOT a US citizen... they just have the right to work in the US. Marrying that person would most definitely not make you a citizen of the US, and I don't even see how it would assist you in getting a green card yourself, although it might.
You really need to talk to a lawyer (US immigration law) about this.
**Without editing my first paragraph, I suggest that both the asker and ~someone else~ read it carefully. I said that a person with a green card can work. I didn't say that was the only purpose that a green card served. One has to ask oneself... why can that person work? Maybe it's because they are a permanent resident? Maybe. What I said is that a person with a green card is NOT a US citizen, and that is true.
Someone else needs to learn how to read. And learn how to comprehend what's been read.
why not
