Famous Immigrants?????
so can you tell me of any immigrants that are famous and have made a difference in America
Answer:
Andrew Grove.
He was a founder of Intel and ran the company for many years.
Most of us are immigrants, so just pick one. If you are referring to illegals you will not find any good ones on a list anywhere since they are criminals.
Not I don't know any.
Technically, all famous people come from an immigrant heritage.
If you mean more recent immigrants you could include people like Werner Von Braun the German rocket scientist.
What about the holocaust survivor that recently got a death threat in SF? I think he won the Nobel Peace Prize. I will look him up.
Here it is:
Nobel prize-winning author Elie Wiesel, speaking in San Francisco amid tight security Wednesday for the first time since he was assaulted here, allegedly by a Holocaust denier, declared that such people are "not mentally ill but morally ill.''
The 78-year-old professor and Holocaust survivor, who is in town to receive a lifetime achievement award from the Koret Foundation, said he remained "surprised and shocked that there are so many people who deny the Holocaust.''
Govenor Arnold Swartzenagger is the most famous at this point.
Hope that helps.
Can't think of any right now,,?

And let us not forget the Social Security system. Recent studies show that undocumented workers sustain the Social Security system with a subsidy as much as $7 billion a year. Let me repeat that: $7 billion a year.

And they do those jobs not because they want to take away anything from America, but because they want to give their skills, their sweat, their labor, for a better life and to help build a better America, just as those who came before them.

Are we going to go out and arrest and detain and deport 11 million people? Nobody would argue that that is what we are going to do, because we have never demonstrated the political will to do that, nor have we ever committed the requisite resources to do that.

As far as income tax payments go, sources vary in their accounts, but a range of studies find that immigrants pay between $90 billion and $140 billion in Federal, State, and local taxes.

Because the truth is, today's immigrants, as they have for generation after generation, work the longest hours at the hardest jobs for the lowest pay, jobs that are just about impossible to fill.

I think, Tucker, you and I both know that we have tens of thousands of permanent residents serving in our armed forces.

I would just like to have one day where instead of seeing people cross the border over fences and through the rivers and through the deserts, we could see them picking oranges and picking the apples in Washington state, and our grapes in California. Seeing them do all of the hard work.

It is not better for America to do nothing about an immigration system that hurts families, hampers businesses, and harms communities.
Luis Gutierrez
It is not new or unusual for the real Americans, meaning those immigrants who came to America a little bit longer ago, to fear the outsiders, the pretenders, the newcomers.
Luis Gutierrez
Let me respond with a few points, the first being that all immigrants pay taxes, income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes, gasoline taxes, cigarette taxes, every tax when they make a purchase.
