When are WE THE PEOPLE going to be heard?
We want a fence - not a dreamer’s toy. We want our tax dollars spent wisely - not on croney contracts.
Multi-billions - meaning 3-5 could have placed 250-380 miles of new secure fencing on the border.
This is ridiculous. A fence with motion detectors would catch more people than the occasional drone.

A new predator is on the horizon. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued task orders to physically and electronically seal this stretch of the desert under a multi-billion dollar contract named the Secure Border Initiative Net (SBInet) to curb the flow of undocumented immigrants, drugs, and potential terrorists by 2013. This first $20 million pilot phase, which is named Project 28 after the length of this part of the desert that it is supposed to cover, was to be completed by mid-June 2007.
The subsidiary that makes these weapons -- Boeing Integrated Defense Systems Unit -- will try to achieve what previous border surveillance programs like America's Shield Initiative, Border and Transportation Security Network, and others have failed to do so far: create a mix of infrastructure, technology and personnel that will make the border impermeable.

We will be heard again. The people that we voted into office know that many of them are now walking on egg shells with combat boots on. Their days are limited and when they started getting sent home for not listening to the American people. Only then will the rest of them shape up and start fighting for us Americans!!

Excuse me but your first two sentences are mutually exclusive. One of the only reasons the GOP wanted to build a fence was to line the pockets of the Haliburton's of the world.

I have an idea! We need more prisons. always read about overcrowding or need to release some inmates for space. Why not build some new federal prisons right on the border. Lots of chain link fences with razor wire.

If the politicians were scared of a few illegals marching in the streets they better be really afraid at the next election ! A fence is not the answer to the problem. If we do get the fence built on the Mexican border it's going to keep our the Souther Americans from coming in what about those that get in through the Canadian border, or by air, or by sea? Next we will be building a fence on the border of Canada, and on all ours shores. What kind of country are we going to look like then? The problem lies within the government and that is what needs to be fixed.
Maybe we should put nuclear waste along the border..that ought to keep people away. And when Bush and Cheney are out of office, they can patrol the area night and day.
We are being heard, but some in the Senate want to dance around with their hands over their ears and chant.."Nananana, I can't hear you." They will hear the echoes of the election returns in their nightmares for the rest of their lives when the voters send them packing.

This is so simple. The Feds need to turn this problem over to the local police. They should be allowed to pick up the illegal at their "looking for work" points, and they should then be turned over to the military and sent to Iraq. So, they can't speak Arabic. Neither can our troops. Put them to work for America. That's what they are her for!

The fence, should measure not 7 meter high , but 7,000 so we dont receive the cold winds from the north, nor heath waves...

What about the coasts?...The sea should be shielded too (mexican naval hughe destroyers and plane carriers, also submarines may invade it,, with slings, stones, bows and arrows.,)

The people are being heard. Just not you people. I abhor the comments like what you have made. Just because your not getting what you want doesn't mean all the people are not getting what they want.
The government is listening, while not perfect it is pretty darn good, and just because you think everyone should agree with you, you lump yourself into the people and start crying that nobodys listening. Trust me they are listening, to me, not you.
I have a great life, everything I could hope to have, and if my government wants to try out a few things or sees something that we might need, I say go for it, if it doesn't work out well then we will find another way. I make mistakes too, and I will allow my government some freedom to make some too. Holding them to a higher standard than you hold yourself is what is causing so many of the problems today.
