My nephew went high-school in USA,and in a few month he will get an engineering bachelor degree in a top?
He speaks english very well,he lives and thinks as a "gringo", and he enyoys the american way of life.
After college he wish to stay in USA, and get a good job position with health and retirement benefits, then a green-card and citizenship.
Is my nephew indulge in a fantasy?
What kind of visa will he need?
Are his dreams according with the inmigrations and naturalization laws?
Answer:
If he is an illegal he is entitled to living in a dump with 42 other illegals and a nice job picking lettuce for $7,50 a day. As least that's what all the illegals and their supporters have been telling us. Oh yeah he will have to be hard working and honest.
Is he legally here? If so he can apply for an H1B visa, but should do it early in the year. They run out. Eventually he can then apply to switch to a permenant resident visa. The key is having an employer sponsor who is willing to go to all that trouble.
If he is here illegally, frankly, he has taken a lot of our education funds and part of me is really pissed off, because our schools are failing and our own children need them.
Gritting my teeth and pushing that feeling aside, we've made a pretty big investment in him and I think it is only right to make him stick around and pay taxes and see what it is like from our side.
If he lives and thinks like a gringo, tell him we already have enough gringos. He can get a H1 visa if he finds someone to sponsor him.
