I am actually working in India. However, am currently in London working in a client's location. I am on a work permit Visa and have got my wife & baby on a dependent visa. I will be staying here for another 2 months. I am planning to go to Paris along with my family. I need to know what formalities i have to carry on. Will the passport what i have holds good or do i need to carry out some additional formalities. Please provide me the details at the earliest so that i can arrange for the same. Thanks in advance.

Your visa for UK has no validity for travel to France. Yu need to contact the French embassy in London as soon as possible. You will need to satisfy the French authorities that you intend to return to India (or to UK if your visa would still be valid).

If I understand your question you are an Indian passport holder my advice is go to the french consular in London and explain to them you may need an entry visa.

As far as I know all you need as proof of ID is your existing [Indian] passport. Cannot see any problem with that.
The quickest way to get to Paris from London is Eurostar. Just turn up buy a ticket and board the next train out.
