Italian Citizenship...?

Hello everyone, how long do you have to live in beautiful Italy before you can be granted citizenship?

My father was born in italy, but renounced his citizenship in the late sixties so i cannot gain citizenship through him. If you know any other way please tell. :)
Thank you!

Answer:
Look at site as said y the user above; otherwise, as a daughter of a former Italian citizen, you have to reside in Italy for at least three years, instead of ten as for people with no kind of relations with Italy from their ancestors.

Do you speak any Italian (anyway, not required in order to get citizenship :)?
If so, this is the page from Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs official site about Italian citizenship; alas, this page is available in Italian only: http://www.esteri.it/ita/5_30_208_318.as...
Look also your requirement for Visa if you want to stay in Italy for more than 90 days, even for living in: http://www.esteri.it/visti/home_eng.asp...
Here you go.
