How long does it take to get a green card?

I am English and my husband is American, we have a wonderful opportunity to move back to the usa and want to go as soon as possible. I have looked on the usa govt websites and they are very vague on this matter, anyone had first hand experience? Thank you.

Answer:
Depends on the filled quota for your country for that year.

If you are a UK citizen and it is real marriage and he's not 75 and unemployed and you are 18, it will fairly quick.

6 months to year.

Go to the embassy and get it started.
Blast! Wish I could help you, hun - good luck, though.is there room in your suitcase for me...? I'm sick to the back teeth of (what's left of) Great Britain (now, there's a contravention of the Trades Descriptions Act, if ever I heard one.)
24hrs if you goto usagf.com i think somthing like that
if you already have a visa to come to the US, your green card should arrive within 90 days. if your husband haven't filed your petition yet, you are looking at about a year and a half. which govenment site have you gone to? try the link below:
forever. you guys are just mad. you are basking in honey and milk you want green card, are you crazy?
it depends on when and where you apply.
i would say it typically a year from the day of application to the day you have the actual card in hand
