K-1 Married now SS# How??
Answer:
dont believe all employer need an SS#. Once you file the I-485, I believe you can also file the I-765, which is the application for work permit. Once he has that, he can basically get a ss#. Double check the SS website. I believe the employment authorization is one of the main documents you need to present in order to recieve a SS#.
uhm ask the immigration office or the soc sec admin office
I came in on a K-1 visa , and my husband had me put on his health insurance etc without any social security numbers.I think he used alien numbers. As yet i am still waiting for social security number as I-485 took so long to get approved!!
Unfortunantly he has not been able to file tax returns as i am still waiting for ss#. !!
You will need to ask your insurance agent what they require before they can add him, my insurance company only required a copy of the marriage license. Best of luck to you and yours!
Before marrying you should've gotten his SSN first, it would make it easier. Since you've already married, you will have to wait for his greencard to get it. It may be different in your state so you should try calling your local Social Security Office if he could still apply for his SSN. Regarding insurance, as far as i know if you are employed he could automatically be eligible as part of your insurance providing you give copies of your marriage certificate or license and his passport until he can provide his greencard and SSN.
Best of luck!
