The Mexican national anthem is always done in Spanish. That's because Mexico is a Spanish speaking nation. Singing it in English would be just as dumb as trying to sing the American national anthem in Spanish, because we are an English speaking nation.
I am actually from Canada, and yes I have heard this, there was quite an uproar because many felt this was inappropriate.
I figure if anyone works and pays taxes, what's the problem. We shouldn't blame scapegoats for problems.
Yes its been all over the news...I mean come on i dont go to mexico and try singing their anthem in english or chinese or any other language...
i havnt heard about this but its probably untrue. its unlikely that EVERY SINGLE mexican wants to sing the national anthem in spanish.

its our national anthem, it should only be sung in English. If they can learn it Spanish they can learn it in English. This isn't Mexico ! What the F***!

I think it's a general absurdity. My grandmother came into the US and learned English, she didn't ask for the Anthem to be sung in Japanese for her to fully appreciate the country. The more we have been brainwashed into this "diversity" crap, the more we become fractured, and the more that the American society has frayed

Yes it was big news a while ago, they just want to make everything Spanish, here in the USA we speak English so our National Anthem should be in English.

Anything can be done offensively. That version of the anthem, written by a Brit, mind you, had lyrics added about America's 'cruel laws' that 'separate families' (as if they couldn't all go back together, unlike parents, for example, who are separated by going to prison). To me, on our anthem, and sung at a march demanding amnesty for people who broke the law to take education and other funds belonging to others, it was offensive.
However, we have had translations of our anthem in several languages on government web sites to HELP in assimilation of our newcomers, for a long time. It is the disrespect, not the translation, that bothers me.
