Can a citizen somehow gain residency for undocumented parents?
HOW DOES THIS WORK
Just wondering..since ive heard of this
Answer:
How did they enter the United States? Legally or Illegally?
If they entered legally, and then overstayed and became illegal, you can sponsor them for immigration at the age of 21.
If they entered illegally they must leave the country before you can attempt to sponsor them at the age of 21.
Yes !! Go to www.uscis.gov. Scroll to that very question / answer.
Uncle Wil
First off, they are not just "considered illegal," THEY ARE ILLEGAL! First step is for the illegal alien parents to leave voluntarily, before they get deported.
Please stop the "undocumented" crap! It makes it sound like the illegal parents have done nothing wrong. They only misplaced a piece of paper. This is totally inaccurate! They broke the law and they are criminals!
Yes you can. If you are 18 or older you can sponsor them to become citizens. Often you need to prove that you have good money and can support yourself or them. You need to contact legal aid they can give you more advise on this! Good luck!
