Is immigration a poor excuse for a mismanaged economy?

Immigration causes either no economic benefit or indeed is a negative. Why?
Low-income work pays no tax. As immigrants age- they to require health and welfare thus negating any short term positive revenue input.

This scheme places a huge doubt on the government's claims that migration is a huge benefit to the UK economy. The Home Office claims that migrant workers have boosted the economy by £4billion annually, but in reality the migrants are transferring £5.6billion out of the UK each year according to another government department - the Department for International Development.

I wish I could go into this in major detail- but long story short-
immigrants are completely unnecessary.

Answer:
lets chuck em all back out the country and get all our own nationals off the dole Que and make em work if they've boosted the economy how come we aren't reaping any benefits from that?because their robbing us like you say

i do find it funny and apologise
It is of course possible that migrant workers are contributing to our economy AS WELL AS sending money home. In other words, it's a win-win situation: migrants come to earn money, and employers use them for hard-to-fill jobs.

EDIT

You don't get it, do you? Let's say that migrants earn ten billion pounds a year in the UK, doing jobs that otherwise could not be competively filled. Four billion of that is recylcled within the UK economy, and six bilion is sent back overseas.

The alternative would be that the jobs either are not done at all, or are done more expensively by Brits, eventually making our industry and economy less competitive, resulting is less economic growth. There is no conflict between sending money overseas, and contributing to the UK.

By the way, what do you say about Brits having their pensions sent abroad? What are they contributing to our economy?
Hear hear!
Nice people and all but, as you say, moving our economy out of our country.
You are totally wrong. Low- income work does pay tax, not as much but still some, the threshold for not paying tax is alot lower than anyones salary. Though immigrants have contributed 4 billion, what about the companys they work for and their contribution to the economy, companies who couldn't survive without immigrants because english people are too lazy and would rather sit at home watching crappy celebrity tv and claim benefits. Why don't you count how many billions are wasted on british people who simply can't be arsed to work? Its all about balance and if people have to be "imported" to work because some people in this country simply will not then lets welcome them, I say.
Actually, where I work, immigration is a result of a mismanaged economy.

There are people who have come to work in my area in highly skilled jobs. They have degrees which people in the UK are no longer doing. These are science degrees.

Our economy is producing huge numbers of graduates, which is good in some ways, but while we are producing a skilled workforce, it does not appear to be the workforce the economy needs.

At least in my area, the need for immigration can be cut by having more science graduates.
Ignored drug problem issues(from underground $$$-LACK of treatment opportunities) has more to do with the mismanagement of the U.S. economy. Then working class people, though I would not have admitted it if I had not stopped my involvement as addict...
Modern-day immigration pose more financial burden to the state than benefits. This is true in advanced industrialized society where the archaic social system is largely pre-war.

Taxes (for immigrants; repatriated funds; permits; etc) are the only way to reduce the financial burden on the state. For example, the state can place an annual levy for every immigrant employers hire; funds repatriated home should be limited to x-amount a month accompanied by an exit tax.

Question: Is there a political will/commitment to redress the situation? I think the British tax payers will have to make much more noise to be heard.
Immigrant labor is Slavery??

I thought slavery involved the transportation of the UNWILLING.
These Mexicans risk their lives to sneak over the US border in the dead of night. This is not a definition of slavery.
