How does Dual Citizenship work?
Answer:
Dual Citizenship is just for some countries like Mexico.
Not for India... sorry.
I don't know do you want to be American or not ? When you recite the pledge of allegiance it means just that YOU pledge your allegiance to the United States of America! not any other country!
Look up allegiance in the dictionary.
I guess you could swear on oath that you will renounce your citizenship then go back on your word .that would make your word worth squat and you a real piece of s**t
Neza is wrong...again. To get Dual citizenship all you have to do is Naturalize as a US citizen. To naturalize you must swear an oath that involves you renouncing your citizenship to your native country but afterward if you don't go to your embassy/consulate office and officially renounce said citizenship you do still retain it.
so just naturalize and then don't go renounce your original citizenship later.
bada bing bada bang bada boom dual citizenship.
no age limit pending on your circumstances
All the same rights after naturalizing...
Good to see you asking for that.
Duel is rare in this day and age. Yes you have to renounce prior citizenships when becoming a US citizen but it only amounts to a formality. Once you have the blue US passport you are a citizen, period.
Many other countries do not recognize a statement of renounciation from other countries if it came down to it. Say you renounce. you merely apply for a new passport from your original country and don't mention the US one. You then have rights in both countries but you do make sure that you enter and exit any country using the US one.
But you are still effectivly dual. If on an H1-b or something. you just keep the other passport tucked away in case you move home.
The best thing in the world.... a US passport.
18 and they really want you to give up your other citizenship. At least it's expected that by applying you want to.
