Why would Bill Gates open a facility in Canada to get more H1-B visa workers?

Because Vancouver is MUCH closer to Redmond than China or India is.
They won't need an H1-B visa to work in Canada. It's a different Visa, and Canada has very liberal work visa and immigration policies.
So the money stays close and economy doesnt get too bad around here i guess
1) To get *enough* educated, trained workers.
2) To save money by NOT having to pay their health care costs.
Canada is closer and has a government similar to ours. In China and India Microsoft would have to worry about government spying.
There's no shortage of software engineers in the US. Gates just wants to keep wages down.
Canada is a beautiful country with a lot of open-minded people and a government that cares about its citizens.
