To immigrate or just to visit? If he just wants to visit all he needs is a passport. If he wants to immigrate then he will need to apply for a green card, working visa, or student visa. Whatever you do, don't marry him just so that he can get into the country. You should know him in person for at least one year before even considering anything like that.
don't listen to these morons that have answered your question. besides, none of them truly answered the freakin question anyway. i'm sure all he would need is a passport and a travel visa. is he over 18? i don't know the laws of nigeria, but he might want to make sure that he doesn't need parental permission to travel out of his country alone if he's under a certain age. i suggest that he gets in contact with the U.S. consulate in his country and they should be able to answer all your questions. hope everything works out and you guys are able to physically meet!! =)
It's very doubtful he'd get a US visa as a tourist. All he can do is apply at the US embassy and pay the $100 application fee.
More than likely, you'll have to go there if you want to meet.
I know that there's a type of visa for boyfriend or girlfriends to come over, you defenitely have to go to the USA embassy or Inmigration office they going to tell you exactly how to do it.
Suppose your boyfriend from Nigeria, was tall, blue eyes, white with freckles, speaking English (I mean English from England).would the previous pitiless answerers tell you, that he is trying to use you??

I HAVE HEARD THIS STORY MANY TIMES. BE CAREFUL THEY WILL MARRY LONG ENOUGH TO GAIN CITIZENSHIP THEN DIVORCE YOU. BUT AS FAR AS YOU QUESTION GOES- YOU HAVE TO FILL OUT ALOT OF PAPER WORK FROM IMMIGRATION AND IT WILL TAKE ABOUT 8 MONTHS TO GET IT PROCESSED FOR HIM TO COME
