Is virtual border security reliable?
Answer:
You mean the Bush Administration lied?!?!?
Say it ain't so!
Not hardly.
However, a triple fence composed of a central electrified core, surrounded on both sides by a dense fence to prevent animals from being harmed, with signs posted every 20 feet warning the fence is high voltage, that is well-lit with solar-powered lights all night and equipped with solar-powered motion sensors would be far more effective.
Additionally, armed, manned outposts with rapid response capability should be located every 100 miles. Regular patrols as well.
No their is no replacement, for a real Guard.
If it can be stop or I'll shoot and be able to do just that!
Not like having live humans with guns.
probably not. I feel that the cheapest and most effectice way to secure the border would be to put automatic targeting devices all along the border that would also have an automatic kill function. The device sees the target, draws a bead, and eliminates the target. About every 2 days a crew could go out and retrieve any corpses of the dead and dying. These devices would be placed so as to allow 100% coverage along the entire border. I'll bet there would be a significant drop in illegal immigration.
