We don't know that any of the candidates, Republican, Democratic or Independent won't backstab us. Best thing is to research where they have ALWAYS been on positions - before people started watching them with pre-election scrutiny.

No one knows. Bill Clinton backstabbed the entire country when he lied under oath resulting in him being the only sitting president in history to be impeached. It's a gamble and one can only hope those whom you vote for are honest.

This is a toss up issue, would we get any different from a democrat? the answer is NO! Sooo we stick to our party.
It's hard to tell. Keep in mind though, EVERY presidential candidate is going to lie to us just so they'll get votes. The major thing most of them are saying now is that they'll stop the war in Iraq. But can we be sure? No, we can't. A lot of them say that because they know most American's don't support the war. They're going to say whatever the majority of the people want to hear just so they can get votes.
All of them probably will once they get into office.This is why I always vote on what a person stands for rather than the party.

Many politicians let many of us down,but that doesnt mean we dont give up hope with our country.No we dont have perfect politicians and a perfect government,but at least we can still vote and if we dont like whos in and whats being done,we have the power to vote them out.
If voters would be a little smarter and not vote politicians in on one issue only (like...umm...abortion?) then maybe we'd get a better class of politician.

heh...Politicians are just a step above child molestors..as far as I am concerned. And as far as Clinton is concerned..he got impeached over lying over a BJ...Bush has done far worse...and his actions or the lack thereof killed alot of people...so lets not go there...
i don't think bush backstabbed anybody. his stance on immigration has always been firm.
i think you need to read up on all the candidates and see what their stance is on immigration for everyone, not just the mexicans, to see where you want to be in the next elections. get involved! if you are really passionate work for an organization that reflects your views! make a difference!
I feel incredibly betrayed by Bush and felt he did not deserve to win either election. On the other hand, a smart candidate, I feel would not just stick to a position on a issue, rather be open to information and make a decision based on that. Most politicians do not have that, John Kerry did. Most politicians will not change a single position, even when they are proven wrong; where are the weapons of mass destruction, Bush? I don't believe that any of the candidates are perfect, most of them are far from it. Our country is too settled on parties for a truly great leader to come into power. Every election depresses me. There is nobody who is fit to lead our country who has emerged in the pre-election garbage. Sadly, the ultimate decision for most Americans is to choose the lesser of two evils. Please make it an informed one.

Every President has to give on something he believes in to get anything done. While i don't agree with the immigration bill, I do like the fact that at least he didn't veto EVERYTHING put in front of him. Shows he can find just a little piece of common ground. Oh and by the way, Reagan didn't look into the camera and lie to all of us by saying " I don't recall " on every question posed to him about Iran- Contra? And as far as Ron Paul? I just read his stances on issues. I think he wants pot made legal because he smokes it constantly.
They are all Neo-Cons and will back stab you except Paul.
