My boyfriend wants to come live with me and work permanently in England, he lives in America?
Answer:
he will need to first visit england...go and apply for jobs ...get a work permit...which only a company willing to hire him can give him...then get married...
most importantly make sure that he visits england with a return ticket.TRUST ME... my fiance got interrogated and they nearly turned him back to the states but thankfully they gave him two months to stay. then he had to return and come back again...this time he has come with a return ticket of 6 months which again...they found peculiar and they interrogated both of us to see if he was doing work in england, we strongly denied the fact that he was working here and eventually they let him in...soon we will have to get married and then he can have a british passport.and permanent residence because i have british citezenship.
just whatever you do...don't tell the immigration office at the airport that he is working in england !! - they will put him on a plane home!- he needs to tell them that he's just there for vacation .
secondly...be sure not to tell them anything about the fact that you havent met before...
these people at the airport always ask questions like " how long have you known him??...where did you meet??... how long is your boyyfriend staying in england for.. what does he plan to do...does he have any kids...is he married...what does he do for a living..."
whatever you do. don't mention you are engaged.- they will send him on a plane home !
the best way is for your fiance to come and visit england first...just for month or two- then return home and come back again with a 6 month return ticket...thats when you get married :o)
good luck and beware of the people at the immigration office...theya er so lame and totally haven't had sex in their entire life !
Jordan...the rules for the UK are somewhat different best bet would be to go to the CAB [check local library] and ask what the current rules are.
when the father of my kids came over he had a 6 month visa and when we looked at getting it changed cos we had kids some of the rules applied and some did not..it appeared [at THAT time] he could stay indefinitely but could NOT claim any benefits etc etc..plus he also got medical with my doc as the father of the kids.....
Take care and hope it works out for you Hun
This place is full, common even you can see that!
Don't do it!!!!!
Emails and messaging is one thing, having to live together is another thing.
He could get a work visa and then he would have to apply to be a citizen there.
