Answer:
Hi, I am just the opposite I moved from the US to the UK. I think its wonderful - At the same time I was moving here a friend of mine was moving to the states, He is still there and loves it. He was involved with a few websites with groups online with expats from the UK and people who are going to be moving to the US.

I have put a few links below for you to check out, I still had them in an email my friend sent me before we both moved :-)

Good Luck on your move.
i have met several people who have moved here from england. i have also spent time in London. when i tell them i would love to live in England they all ask "why? it's damp and foggy".

i feel kinda cheated because when i was in London i never saw any fog.
Welcome to the States...

Sorry, I'm not an immigrant, so I can't answer you're question directly... but I do have some friends who have moved here from Brittian... and they seemed to have very little trouble in regards to getting along...

Just to give you a heads up, here we call Petrol Gasoline, a Lorry is a Truck, the Lift is called an Elevator, the loo is called a toilet, and what you call Football is called Soccer here...

Anyway, hope you enjoy America...
My hubby was born in the UK and moved here to America in late 2004. He loves it here. He actually prefers America to the UK. I enjoy the UK, and I prefer the UK to America. I have lived there as well. So both of us know how both countries are. I believe it all comes down to the new feeling of change. When you go to a new/different place than your own, it is exciting. There are many things my hubby enjoys about America. He says be prepared to miss your mates and the drinking/going out UK culture-but if you like coffee your good to go;) green card is pain in the ****, but stick with it!! He has been here for almost 3 years and loves it. He would prefer to live here than in the UK-so that says something??-I love the USA and UK. Good Luck!!
Yep I moved over here about 3 years ago and I haven't regretted it at all. In fact I went back to the UK for a couple of weeks at Christmas and with the exception of my family being over there and not wanting to leave them again, I couldn't wait to get out of the place.
Too many people crammed in to a tiny area, everyone is incredibly miserable, back biting and bitchy it's depressing.

So get out, get out as fast as you can, before the grey cloud of misery gets you too! ;-)
Yup! I havent been here that long (under 2 months) but I moved to Arizona to be with my soon-to-be husband (in just under 2 weeks!) Since I've been here I've done so much! I've got my driving license (didnt have one in the UK - I'm 24) and enrolled into college to do a dental assisting programme (I worked a customer service job I hated in the UK). I wake up everyday wondering if I'm living in a dream! lol! It sounds corny, but I'm here in sunny AZ, with the man I love in a wonderful apartment with my car parked outside, about to embark into a new career!
I am 22, from Manchester and I moved here to Los Angeles about 2 years ago. It is much better than England in my opinion. The people are more friendly (especially if you have an English accent), the weather in CA is amazing and there is just so much more room. I recommend you move here asap. Beware, if you werent born here you have to go through us immigration (the only bad part).
