you really must be more specific. do you have any job skills a country might particularly need?
It also depends on where you are coming from. different countries have different relationhsips and will accept each others' citizens with more or less hassle. example? the difference between trying to come into the US as a Mexican or Iraqi versus tryng to come from Europe of Canada.
in general, the only country that would take an immigrant with "no hassle" would be a country that has no competition to get into. i doubt that's the kind of place you want. besides, THOSE countries probably have such bad bureaucratic infrastructre that it would be a hassle anyway.
with any country, you've gotta have something to offer. nowhere is just going to let you walk in and stay (not legally anyway).

Canada is about the easiest "western" country to get into and to get permanent residence in; it's certainly easier than NZ, Australia or USA. Some European countries are OK too but it varies. South Africa might also be worth trying: I think they are really trying to attract immigrants and the quality of life can be great there (although there is a bit of a crime problem). Usually you will need a job offer in your chosen country to make immigration faster but not always, each country is different.
The country within you is the best place to be free of the well intended meddling of others who "know" if you were less "you" they could really fix your life and make you as happy as they are. People are usually most kind, they want you to be as happy as they are, just don't try to be happier than them! misery loves company.
If money is no object try the Bahamas. If you are a poor student go backpacking in Europe with a rail pass. Independence is the first step to realizing you don't know everything and those crazy people who donated their DNA to you are just other humans trying to find happiness too.
Just don't act like an entitled American, that is what gives our teenaged Country a bad rep and why old world cultures think we are rude. The spirit walk is not for the faint hearted and without mine I would have probably been in the news for doing something stupid to my parents before I turned 30.
what about a cruise company ? the water would be international and i think they are used to processing immigration / work permits for people from around the world. carnival cruises, holland american, princess cruises, norweigan cruise lines, cunard cruises, royal carribean cruises
