The other huge issue here is the overwhelming number of employers that hire illegals and pay them under fake SSNs or pay them under the table. That's the root of the problem. If they didn't do that then there would be nowhere for illegal immigrants to work and so coming here would be a waste of time.
The only upside to legalizing illegal immigrants is that all those employers would be exposed.
the bill wasn't a movement by the illegal immigrants, it was a movement by people "up there" in the government
we didn't defeat illegals because they had nothing to do with the bill being signed or potentially passed. that was the government
there's really nothing to celebrate, though. it was obvious that the bill would never pass. contributing to society would be an ideal "next step"
We have to remain vigilant, though. We have to make sure our congressmen do their jobs - i.e., represent US.
This was a victory for sure. But, we still have to win the war.

I'll keep repeating it over and over again. I'll keep sending it to my representatives until local and state law enforcement are allowed to do their jobs.
I think it's a sad day for America that we are subjected to this whole thing. If they would enforce the laws that exist (they being the current and last 2 pres.) we wouldn't have to deal with this crap.

Yes we need to celebrate. I want a reform Bill that is not only going to secure our borders first but also that set an example. You come illegally (not legally) you go home and get nothing. It was a get out of jail free card Bill.
Yes, when the bill floped it saved citizens millions. Now enforce atleast our labor laws & this whole mess will be over in no time.
If our fearless leaders had enforced our laws, this whole charade from the marches of the illegals for civil rights that they are clearly not entitle to, to our officials, let me repeat that, our elected officials, not the illegals, but from the way they were behaving you would swear they were bought and paid for by the illegals and their supporters, this would have never happened

There is no secure borders and nothing was passed to secure it. This bill would have provided at least something done. We are back at square one, nothing is done and the borders are kept wide open .So I ask, what is there to celebrate?
Why not change laws? like if your illegal and have a child in America your child is illegal too. Allow no welfare and food stamps to illegals. Anybody who hires illegals get arrested and lose your business license. Don't allow illegals to vote Bush set up a plan to let them vote which is why he won his last election. I say if you want to move to another country do it the right way. I'm moving to Canada and I'm going to do it the right way not by sneaking into Toronto but the right way. Yes it's going to cost me but so be it.
