Why has Labour promoted mass immigration over a ten year period when we cannot even house our own people?

Has the English government worked out the ratio of "white english" folks leaving the country, its OK talking about those who are entering the country, the government never seem to head count all the Brits who are leaving en mas, to other parts of the world.or why!

I understand your frustration but I would not say that the labour party have promoted immigration it has just happened to them as a result of Tony Blair's policy of Holy war. The largest number of immigrants and asylum seekers have been Iraqis fleeing the tragedy we have inflicted on them. When was the last time you heard labour mention their "ethical foreign policy"?

1) There's a lack of skilled workers
2) There are many jobs that British are not willing to do
3) It decreases inflation (especially that one of the wages)
What about an English person who has always lived in England who is not allowed to have their Jamaican partner join them in England because the British immigration authorities (British High Commission in Kingston, Jamaica) refuse to give the person a UK Visa. When the English partner offers to attend his partner's interview, the British High Commission insist this is not necessary and is not normal. However, the Visa application is refused on the bizarre grounds that there are no wedding pictures and therefore "no evidence that the two parties have actually met". Complaining to the Foreign And Commonwealth Office is no good because they simply refer the complaint back to the British High Commission in Jamaica. The couple have been married since January 1996 and have never been able to live together in the UK. It should also be noted that whereas the fee for making an application for a Visa amounts to a considerable sum of money, it is NOT refunded if the application fails.

I know since becoming a part of the EU that we are bound by certain criteria which allows immigrants from all over Europe free access to our country (and services) and as such, there has to be an increase in housing.
However you are totally correct - many have been priced out of the housing market already in this country and things seem to be getting worse. We need to stop all immigration into this country at least until such a time as the DHSS, NHS and local councils are already able to provide for those that already reside here. We do not have the resources to accomodate those immigrants we already have here.

Labour are not the party of the 'people' they used to be. They are encouraging immigration to fuel the cheap labour market, helps big business fuels the black economy, they say people are not given benefits and free housing. If you live where I do you know this is not true. I have been told by housing agencies that immigrants go to the top of the housing list to keep them out of B and B accommodation because B and B is so expensive!
The problem IS NOT MASS IMMIGRATION!
The problem is the failure in urban planning, and housing development over a period of decades!
And Labour HAVE NOT promoted mass immigration
The EU was enlarged twice, and that has allowed many hundred of thousands of migrant workers to legally enter the UK to find work and better themselves as we are also part of the EU.
It's all about free movement of labour, productrs, markets, all that jazz.

i dont know anything really about your laws, but it seems to me that our govt is trying to duplicate the same thing here...by the SPP...whereas they're trying to intergrate the united states with canada and mexico to form what is equivelant to your EU. i am against this and know from experience that this will not work. mexico has sent 20% or more of it's unskilled, uneducated to my country to drain it dry and has been succeeding in it's mission to bring the united states down to mexico's level. they dummy-up our schools by bringing in mass numbers of illegal children that our tax dollars pay for, where we feed them and employ more teachers to teach them spanish and meanwhile, we ...our kids...are left sitting in classrooms with time-consuming illiterates who typically drop out as soon as it's legally possible. i don't mind merging with canada as they are a lot like us and there never seemed to be a difference to americans, i think. but still, this is my country and i know a lot of americans won't be sold out by big corporations running things in washington. we don't want non-assimilating mexicans. we don't want to adopt a failed country such as mexico. they are truly corrupt. i see a civil war coming over this because why all of a sudden the rush for everyone to globalize? whats going on?

It was John Major (Conservative prime minister) that signed the Maastricht treaty; and he had to fight to get it through Parliament.
It was Maggie Thatcher (Conservative prime minister) that promoted the sale of council houses and stopped councils re-investing in new housing.
The current govt always inherits the decisions of the previous govt. Sometimes those decisions take years to show their effects.

i just wonder why when they can go to plenty of other countries in the EU they CHOOSE to travel all that way and then hop across the english channel to then get to us. why not stop off somewhere closer?! oh yes i remember, its because they wont get as many hand outs.
