Why are our police afraid to arrest and deport illegals?

i saw a local police officer right by a large construction site (and we live in an area with absolutely no hispanics...so we know they're illegal) and when i asked him if he was going to do anything about this huge amount of "hispanics" that just showed up in town in like a 2 week period, and took over every dang construction job for like a 50 mi radius, he said he isn't going to do anything

Answer:
Unfortunately, it is redundant for them to arrest them. Unless they have actually committed a felony they cannot just arrest them for being illegal. You can be here without papers if you are "visiting" from another country, and that is almost impossible for local officers to determine because there is no official communication between Customs and local officers in any town. And they cannot arrest them if they are working, that is a issue with the IRS, not local police. Even if the immigrants are arrested the courts generally will just deport them back across the border, without them serving any time for their crime, and the immigrants will simply cross back over and start again. It really sucks and, unfortunately, the government doesn't seem to want to fix it.
That is for Immigration to handle - local pd has no way to arrest them unless they break a law - then it's still up to the judge and court syatem of ours. All I can say is welcome to the United States of Mexico!!!
according to liberals you're bad because you're not rich

if you were Paris Hilton then you would be considered good by them

MJ if you crossed into Mexico illegally that would be enough to be considered illegal and a crime by their police and they would arrest you within minutes.
There are more serious crimes than the illegals . And i hope i took that the wrong way , i hope you didn't mean that in a racist way about the Hispanics. And don't you have other things to worry about than that ?
cheap labor, unfortunately for the "ILLEGAL" mexican, they think that the U.S. is just going to accept them, and finally just make them citizens, this will never happen, they will just be exploited by the Liberal Business owners who will protest and fight for their rights, he is only using the cheap labor to increase his profit margin, they will be used as "Rented Mules" their whole lives here.
Its called cheap labor, why hire someone to do a job for $9. when you can hire someone to do the job for $6,or less.plus if the cop did anything and they turned out to be legal he could have a nice lil law suit on his hands.
Its not the polices job to arrest illegals thats the immigrations department. And you have no idea if those Hispanics are legal or not they could be working for a completely legit company. Or maybe they crossed the border legally with working permits for a Mexican construction company. You cannot claim somebody of being illegal for being Hispanic and working in construction and labouring.
That is very common here in southern Calif. Actually we were considering going to the park and hiring some of them to move us, but we went with a registered, tax paying company instead.

This is very common here, companies go to our park and pick out some men standing there and hire them for the day, I'm sure the construction companies do this, also. Their labor is cheap, and they don't have to pay unemployment taxes, compensations, or retirment benefits like other companies do. It is the price we pay for raising the housing costs, food costs, etc, people cant live here without higher wages, so a cheaper wage or work force comes in and there is trouble...

The gov won't do anything about it, especially when the democrats are about to take charge and republicans are just wanting to be on the good side of people. Get used to it.
It's not there job. Immigration needs to handle that. But they won't because they don't have enough man power to deport every Mexican. Who would do all the hard jobs like construction, field labor ? Nobody because no American will do that kind of work for minimum wage. You don't know every Hispanic at that large construction site was an illegal you just assUme that. Did you go check their green cards? I didn't think so!
because they don't want to do the paper work!!!
The police do not have the authority to arrest illegals...just because they are illegal. If they commit another crime besides being illegal, it's a different story.
they just don't want to do there job like most government people the paper work feds to come out no one wants to do there job
for a person who lives in an area w/absolutely no hispanics u sure do hate them an awful lot. did u check their papers or ask them their status,, see thats just ignorance on ur part. Plus local police dont have the authority to arrest or detain any illegal immigrants unless of course they are committing a crime (immigration isn't their field honey). even the troops on the border aren't allowed to arrest illegals, see thats our gvmt.
Hon, just bc they are hispanic doesn't mean they're illegal, you can't tell someones status by just looking at them. Don't judge a book by its cover. And police officers don't have the authority to deport any illegal immigrants, its not they're job!
Carolyn, tell me what are these people doing to you? stop being so childish and acting like that. Let these people work and do their work. Don't act like a scary child for nothing. Grow up women.
