Let me tell you this, IF a law was to be passed to where anchor babies were not allowed to have citizenship because their parents weren't here legally ..... many of you would have to go back to your countries .. illegal immigration has been a problem since Columbus stepped on this land. Just a news flash. Congress passed a bill on Ammendment 14 that states "No child born on US soil by someone illegally residing in the US is considered an American citizen as of NOVEMBER 2006. If one parent is a legal US resident or citizen that parent has the right to petition and prove that child is theirs and will be registered as US citizen." That is why you are not hearing any Reps or reporters making comments of ANCHOR Babies anymore.
Now, the ones that were born prior to this law are considered US citizens because they were born before it was a law. Those born prior will be kept in the US and parents deported if child is under an age set under a judge that the child is not old enough to make the decision to go with the parents or stay here. Those children will be put into the care of the state and raised on foster or state care facilities. That means we pay for them and no not all illegal immigrants are living off the welfare system that is bunch of bull! I would rather have them here paying for their own children and taking care of them.

Citizenship has nothing to do with where someone lives. As a US Citizen, I can live in several non-US countries.
A baby will have a very hard time living on its own regardless of citizenship. I also think that the family that loves and cares for that child won't suddendly stop based on an artificial concept. I hope they will continue to care for their child. If they do not, that has absolutely nothing to do with citizenship.
