Answer:
Asylum seekers do get grants, which they are supposed to pay back. Single parents on the dole are also entitled to these government grants.
The asylum seeker is not supposed to buy a car with it but it should be put towards living conditions, ie redecorating, but it is paid in a government cheque which can be made out to anyone. The single unemployed parent can buy a car with hers as long as they use the car to look for work.

A few years ago a friends mum was selling her car and the man who was buying it was an immigrant and he said the government paid for them to get cars as it was cheaper then keep on giving them free bus passes so yes i think it is true

Yes I do think it is true, plus they get driving lessons if they don't know how to drive. This is so they are able to find work in this country.
What about they just don't come here and if they do send them straight back if they have no use to us.

I have been told by two car dealers that it is true. They tend to buy really old bangers for as little as possible and pocket the rest of the cash. Have you noticed they nearly all seem to have mobile phones. Who pays for those? This is a crazy country. No doubt!

I heard months ago they pay for driving lessons, so wouldnt surprise me in the least if our government gave them cars too. Its a joke, no wonder everyone comes to the UK.
Well they get alot more help,than our own people do.
not that i aware of. immigrants cant work in this country until they have resided here for a year and they do not get any special treatment. i work with immigrants in a support centre and have not heard of this scheme you mention

Some of the responses here show that people will just believe whatever they want to if it confirms their prejudices. Did you know that at passport control at Heathrow they give all foreigners wads of notes, but UK citizens just get spat at? No, it's not true, but you might as well repeat it as if it was. The vast majority of Eastern Euro people are here to work, and they're normally doing jobs that don't get looked at by UK residents, like fruitfarms.
