I know every gas station/party store near me is owned and staffed by Indians, and YES the incense is overbearing; take a freaking shower. They not only sell porn but they sell crack pipes and other illegal contra-ban behind the counter, and NOT discreetly so. I asked one of the few guys that I can actually understand there and he told me that they can work here in America and then go home to India to their families and live like KINGS! I bust my @@@ and I live in AMERICA FULL TIME because I AM AMERICAN and I can barely stay above the poverty level. THEY Need to go home and stink up their own country we have enough crap here.
As i read through some of these other answers I think that some of you people must be fools; do you not see that all of our AMERICAN money is feeding and providing for everyone EXCEPT AMERICANS! If they need to fricking pray then go to church like we do and NO MY KIDS SHOULD NOT NEED TO SEE HUSTLER MAGS when they are looking for a candy bar.!!
If people buy it, he will continue to sell it. If you don't like the service, go to another station. That's the beauty of free will. I think you go because part of you likes the attention.
If they are citizens, get over it. If you don't like it take your business somewhere else. Its not just foreigners that sell porn, by the way. And, everyone who is here legally has the right to go into business for themselves.
Edit: I agree with Thomas. We have an Indian couple that own a small shop in our neighborhood, and they are very friendly as well. They know everyone by name, they have asked me for information on ESL courses for thier kids, and they have done everything in their power to become a part of our community.
Well the gas station I go to is owned by an Indian also but I still go. Its stupid of you to stop going just bc they're a different race!

Your gas comes from a foreign land, and most likely the franchise owner is a foreign company, and your money goes to foreign hands. I think burning a little incense is the least of the problems here. I think it stinks too, but not nearly as much as what I just said. The indian guy down the street always rounds up the pennies in my favor, even has done an IOU when I didn't have the cash I thought I had. They seem to get along with the neighbors just fine, and know people by name. I can get over the accent for good customer service.
It's called the new American trend and have nothing mean to say about them.Being that they are very polite and if they stared it's because their customs are different from yours and I am sure that you are just flattering yourself silly.
All the gas stations in my neighborhood are owned by Pakistanis and Lebanese.They have the right to make a buck just like anyone else.They are very POLITE when I go to their businesses.If you don't like the Hustler,Chic,and the DVD's,don't look at them.As far as the incense did you ever think they were burning it for a prayer altar in the back room,some keep them out front also.They are probably staring at you because they find American women exotic and beautiful.
