Why dont people care about illegal immigration?

I think the massive outpouring of e-mails and calls that shut down the Congressional phone system yesterday are testiment to the fact that most people do care about illegal immigration.
A major majority of Americans do care about this subject, but they are being ignored by the politicians that represent them. This is a huge problem, but the politicians are playing it for more votes to keep themselves in power.
We do care! that's why we want the wall built and enforce laws to keep them out.
Where have you been? People do care. They have lobbied Congress and the President's proposed Immigration bill was just shot down.
I don't know why because the US was founded on immigrants if you look back into the history books.Everyone came from Europe, Spain, and other countries.
I care. Maybe people who don't live by the border don't because they think it doesn't affect them, but it does.
People do care, and we are now waking up to the fact it is our elected officials (Republican, Democrat and Independent) that do not care.

I care! I voted NO and pushed for it. If my ancestors came here LEGALLY (in a time when there was no immigration law too) than I expect the same now!
.we do care about illegal immigration it must be stopped and stopped now. it is unfortunate that the latin american economy is in such bad shape but coming in droves across the border to the u.s. will only strain and break our economy. the latin americans don't come here to be a part of our society they only come for the benefits.

zenith and is now eroding, perhaps it's the natural order of
things. Just as all migrations throughout history have been.
Some people care about it now But not all. Hey in the 90s congress did some amendments to illegal immigration and americans didnt care. It didnt even make the news. Americans care about what is shown in television, if we dont see it on tv we are not even aware of whats happening in congress.
