Can I fly from the USA to the UK on my British passport if it expires in December this year?

I am a British citizen and want to go from USA to UK one way - im not returning to the USA - will they let me back into UK if I travel next month?

Answer:
As you are British with a UK passport I don't see why not.

You only need to be worried if you are going to a country that is not Britian (some EU countries will allow EU citizens to stay in the country until day of expiry and outside that most countries don't like to let you in unless you have 6 months validity).
No I dont think so.
Yep. As long as you are a British citizen they'll let you leave the U.S. and into the U.K. as long as you travel before yuor expiration date.
I dont think u can use it 6-7 months before it expires.. its something like that
I don;t see why not if ur passport doesn;t expire till Dec.2007
if your passport expires in december, then you will no problem entering uk by next month. or better yet just go to the British high commission in US and renew you passport.
I am confused! If your passport expires in December, and you are going back to UK next month,August, What's the problem?
You can travel with your current passport up until the time it expires. It is July now, if you are traveling to the UK next month, in August and your passport doesn't expire until December, you have no problem.
They will let you in but what happens to you after that depends on whether or not you are featured on the web site below!
