I personally think that Welfare recipients should be required to work - even one day a week - at one of these jobs that "Americans won't do" as a prerequisite to receiving welfare.
Obviously the jobs don't require a lot of skill or education, if illegals who don't speak English can do them.
It would help build marketable skills in the welfare population, and move them towards moving OFF of welfare.
Of course, if they're "too good" to do some of the jobs that illegals are doing now, then they must be "too good" to live off the government teat, too, right? I mean, if cleaning an office building or picking fruit is "beneath" them, wouldn't "living on charity" be "beneath" them too?
"Welfare recipient" is not a career option.
I don't know where the politicians come up with that nonsense.My family has been in America forever.They were among the first settlers of Louisiana .I have done every s#it job anyone can imagine.I just don't do crappy jobs for $1.25 per hour like the illegals do.
Our elected officials are so fare out of touch it stinks. Most of them have never really had "JOBS". Let's take George, lived off of mom and dad and oil money from the middle east. The ONLY reason Bush wants amnesty is cheap labor for business. Same with Nancy, business has been on a free ride for too long.
