ok the way i think would be the best way to get in the us wothout papers would be to build a big rocket and point it south and then tie your self to it and light the fuse.
IF anyone wants to sneak into USA, just get on a tramp freighter or commercial fishing vessel. Gumimints been doing that way for years.
There is this great little ranch on the border of Mexico and Texas just north of Brownsville. It has no water (except the horse and pig trough), and is miles and miles of open land that is almost uninhabitable. The owner is a NRA member who really needs the help in sighting in his new rifles and appreciates any kind of assistance from people trespassing on his land.
Probably through the mexican border. Through New Mexico is probably the most vulnerable in the desert. There is a lot of sensors which could detect movement, but there is not much marking the two borders. Texas would be a good one to, the rio grande is so low you can just waddle through. Hypothetically of course. Many people are caught and sent back to mexico as many as a dozen times.
If it were me, I'd probably go through the proper channels and get my Australian passport, book a flight to the US and fill out any necessary paperwork along the way.
The sneaking in way usually leads to attention from the Coast Guard, NSA, CIA, FBI, and Homeland Security (Thanks to bush...) breathing down your neck.
