When You hear or read of someone Suffering, what is Your First reaction?
Answer:
Hopefully to be able to help.
Look at the news and find out which country Bush has invaded this week.
Emotional pain(like a sorrowful feeling in the pit of my stomach). Then I get angry if it's suffering someone else had caused them.
Of course it is compassion. And then you look closer into the situation. You render immediate first aid to the extent that you do not put yourself and others into danger. And then you fix the root of the problem.
Obviously since you posted in Immigration you are trying to make a "love your neighbor" point. Lovely but achingly naive.
The invasion of the US by illegals is putting us all in danger and putting us all at risk. We are going to bankrupt and exhaust ourselves pulling babies out of the river; someone UPSTREAM is tossing them in the river. That's where the problem has to be fixed.
Even Mother Theresa said she recognized that she had to be healthy in order to help others more fully and that there were times she had no say no for the preservation of self.
And how about these countries of origin and their unhappy natives take personal accountability and take responsibility for fixing themselves?
No one should suffer at the hands of others but if you are referring to illegal immigrants, the US can't take care of everyone. The homeless children and homeless Veterans should be taken care before any illegal immigrant. Who's protesting the fact that our government let's children and people who fought for our freedom to live on the streets?
sympathy
Nothing. i personally try not to waste my breath or tears on things that are out of my control. i don't get why people get so upset over these things when in all actually most of them will do nothing to change it.
