Getting into the states??
Answer:
Having first-hand experience of this, I would say its a nightmare. In order to get a visa beyond the usual 90 days, my husband had to have an acceptable offer of employment from a US firm. In order for him to qualify for this, the job had to have been advertised for 6 months and the firm had to prove that no suitable American had come forward. This initial working visa lasted for 1 year. Then you have to go through the process again. I could go with him as his wife, but could not work at all. Once there, we could apply for a green card, but it would take at least 2 years to come through. We stayed for just 1 year, but as he was not enjoying the job anyway, did not bother going through the whole process again, and came home. If you think you can apply for a visa in advance, and have no offer of employment, think again!
On a green card lottery, probably nil. Prepare to wait at least 2 years. Employ an attorney - try chrisingram@breakthroughusa-ip...
and have £3 - 5000 ready to pay for all cost. And expect to be grilled by US immagration officials at the US Embassy
Since you already have a duel citizenship I would think getting a visa to enter the U.S. would be easier for you than most.
To immigrate to the U.S. though. That's tough to call. Without being married to someone from here or being sponsored by an employer it's going to be a crap shoot.
