How would I go on about living and working in Mexico for a year or two?
I just want to change my horizons for about 2 years and love the country. If anyone got tips, please help! :)

Just sneak across the border into Mexico every day from California, Arizona, New Mexico, or Texas. It's easy, the Mexicans do it all the time.
Actually, if I were you, I'd contact the Mexican embassy in your country. They should be able to give you the info you need.

Just look at the career offers in any of the over 1,000 transnational USA companies that exploit Mexicans, and suck the money out of the country.
Get a heavy tan and learn spanish. GO to Mexico and live with the poor people for abot a year or more. Remember always keep on working on your tan After a year or more come back to the USA as an illegal does. Do everything the illegals do for about a year or maybe two.Of course you will have to change your name. Then write a book about your experience. You might become a multi-millionaire.

Good luck. They have some of the toughest immigration laws on the earth. If you have a skill that is in great demand, you have a chance. Visit the mexican embassy for the details.
i guess you can try Mexixo city or maybe cancun. I guess its cool there cos the guys like baseball too, if you're into that and soccer. Look for the big major cities especially with your experience you might get a big company.

Since there are serious unemployment problems in Mexico, it won't be easy to get permission to work. Companies are limited in how many foreigners they may hire and they must show evidence that they are unable to find a Mexican national to fill the job.
That's not to say it's impossible. You will need an FM3 residence permit with working papers attached and a "cedula" for tracking the financial aspects of your work.
Your best bet might be to try and get hired by a US or multi-national company doing business in Mexico and get them to send you. Many, many US companies now have maquiladora factories in Mexico and use US managers there.
Another way is to have your own business. Web-based businesses, especially, are an easier fix. I'm told you don't even need working papers to operate a web business in Mexico, but I would verify that with "hacienda" or a Mexican embassy or consulate. If you can start a business that has even the hope of one day being able to employ a Mexican worker, you will get permission faster.
Be aware that these types of regulations are open to interpretation all over Mexico. You will almost certainly not get the same answer in San Antonio, Texas as in Los Angeles or the same in Guadalajara as in Monterrey. That can sometimes be a good thing. If you don't like the answer you get in one place, try somewhere else.
My best advice would be to start with your nearest Mexican consulate, learn what you can, and go from there. One good thing about Mexico: there is almost always a way to get something done.
