Why do you blame immigrants for your own failures?
Answer:
I certainly don't blame immigrants. My grandparents on my father's side and my mother were immigrants.
Everybody in the United States, including Native Americans, are descended from people who immigrated here.
I don't
Don't generalise please
Pay attention, not immigrants, ILLEGAL immigrants.
This attitude of blaming immigrants for all our shortcomings stems from the activities of right wing extremists who try to scapegoat immigrants at every opportunity. And it isn't just illegal immigrants who these people target. Many of those who they target are not even immigrants at all, since they tend to use the terms "immigrants" and "ethnic minorities" interchangeably. You will notice that they almost always refer to "immigrants" as being Islamic or non-white, when in fact the majority of recent immigrants have been white eastern Europeans. Also, MyTend.com seems to be frequented by an unrepresentative number of such extremists, which can give the impression that these attitudes are more commonplace than they actually are.
Many decent and reasonable people in this country have perfectly legitimate concerns regarding illegal immigration. These right wing extremists try to take advantage of that concern by trying to twist it into a hatred of all that is different from their own blinkered view of normality, in order to gain political advantage for themselves.
So don't tar everyone with the same brush as these extremists. Legal immigrants to the UK are an advantageous and welcome addition to our country and our society, and most make a significant contribution to the workforce and economy. The vast majority of people in the UK realise and appreciate that fact.
The problem is that the extremist minority always tend to shout the loudest, while the majority remain silent.
Blaming minorities is an old ploy of the right and people who aren't worth employing. I used to employ people in an industry that could accommodate both skilled and unskilled workers and I can assure you there were plenty who were a waste of time. We often found immigrants to be the best employees and not because we could pay them less. We paid everybody on performance and they appreciated that and worked accordingly.
I am myself an immigrant in Australia and have never been accused of taking somebodies job.
If you have to blame somebody else for your failings then you should have a good look at yourself and do something about it.
No employer will replace a good worker unless he is a bad one looking only for cheap labour and why would you want to work for someone like that?
