If it's Mexican then people think citizenship. If it's Asian then people think Mail Order Bride. If it's East European then people think Internet Bride. Mexicans are not the only group to get stereotyped.

Ummmm. I assess each person for who they are unto themself. I do not subscribe to blanket assumptions or stereotypes. I see a persons' actions, and how they live their life, not label them by demographics.

Look, while I sympathize with anyone who has it rough in life and I understand that we don't always help...illegal is illegal. It's hard to get past that fact. That's where the stereotypes come from, we don't appreciate people coming into the country illegally while some wait for months or years to legally come into our country and make a new life.

The fact is that the USA has to come to new terms with immigration, some how. This makes it difficult for our neighbors to both sides of the border, south and north, to come here to work.
I live in Montana. There was a story last year about a Canadian woman who had been married to an American for nearly twenty years. They had a daughter in her teens who was born in the US. The mother and daughter went to visit the grandparents in Canada. Coming back they only would admit the girl, not the mom. This went on of months. The mother lost her job. What a mess for people.
This happens because people don't do their paperwork first thing and work on getting their citizenship. If they would do that, they would have a paper trail to prove their good intentions.
What's the matter? Can't you find a good law-abiding American Citizen to marry? Would you trust an illegal immigrant not to lie, cheat or steal from you? How would you know that he isn't marrying you for the possibility of getting a green card? How do you know he won't kill you and take your money and use your identity for his wife in Mexico? You're right not all people are bad, regardless of where they come from. However, all illegals are bad because they have proven their disdain and disrespect for the law. Therefore they cannot and should not be trusted. Facts are Facts. Don't be blindsided and don't be taken in by their poormouthing attitudes and statements. Criminals will do whatever it takes to get what they want and if you marry an illegal, you are setting yourself up to be taken advantage of.

I agree with you honey! All the way! And I am MEXICAN-AMERICAN and proud of it! And Mexicans are NOT the only ones coming to this country in search of a better life. And if they didn't make it so hard to become a legal citizen, then maybe my ancestors wouldn't have had to swim across the river to give their children a chance at a better life! Now what some children decide to do with their lives once they grow up is a different story, as it is with any other race or ethnicity.

No one is stereotyping anyone...our area is being overrun with hispanics and actually the Mexicans are the only ones out of all the hispanic groups that actually work to live here. They are good people.

And much of that money ends up siphoned out of our economy and into offshore accounts. Illegal aliens, over half of whom work "under the table" with neither job nor income reported (nor taxed), are not counted as employed or unemployed. But some of those day-labor and off-the-books "job-lets" would be "real" jobs - available to American citizen job-seekers - if employment regulations were enforced. Illegal aliens can get away with tax evasion, et al., which citizens cannot. In short, we have too many workforce entrants and too few jobs created. The ratio works out to roughly 7-10 workforce entrants per job created. If all illegal aliens depart or are deported, all legal immigration halted, and all temporary employment visas abolished, we still have a problem with more US-born workforce entrants than new jobs created. Illegal immigration damages our country and our citizens every day at every level. And not even the attacks of 2/26 and 9/11 have awakened many Americans to the vast dangers illegal immigration poses to our selves, our families, our communities, our society, our values, our principles, our civilization. Zero Tolerance for Immigration-Law Violators! We must remember the lessons of 2/26, 9/11, and the costs we bear every single day. God Bless the U S A !
