Should all the illegal immigrants stay in the U.S.?

That's a great way of rewarding crime, ain't it?

Answer:
I believe the ones that have children and are in relationships with American citizens should be able to stay. I do believe they should have proof that they have been in the relationship for a year or more.
My boyfriend is an illegal immigrant and I shouldn't have to suffer because my country failed to keep our borders closed and I fell in love with a Mexican.
We have been together for three years going on four and him and my children are very close. As a U.S. citizen I should be able to have him here if I want.
IMMIGRANTS are here LEGALLY. They should be allowed to stay.

illegal aliens are here ILLEGALLY. They should ALL be DEPORTED!
Hell yes, we don't want them
NOT NO BUT HELL NO.
NO AMNESTY.
Definitely...I sure wish that I could go toke up in a public area without worrying about the repercussions:).
No way. That's just like saying, that's ok you broke the law, that's just fine, SLAP just don't do it again. Well how much time do you think it will take for word to get back to the others that the United States rewards illegals! The great flood will occur!
NO ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS!! I'm sick to death of them--hell, they have more rights and privileges than I do--and I'm 100% American! I'm sick of everything being written in both English and Spanish (HELLO, we're in AMERICA!), I'm sick of paying taxes so they can collect welfare. If you come here legally, learn the language, and respect our laws-great, but that's usually not the case!
This really shouldn't even be a question anymore. The American people banded together and said no already to the amnesty bill, and now Bush is trying to backstab us and force it through anyway. I think a new term is needed for America besides "democracy".
Immigration Law...
1. There will be NO special bilingual programs in
the schools, NO special ballots for elections, and all government business will be conducted in our language.

2. Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote, no
matter how long they are here.

3. Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political
office.

4. Foreigners will NOT be a burden to the taxpayers.
No welfare, NO food stamps, NO health care, nor any other government assistance programs.

5. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it
must be an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.

6. If foreigners do come and want to buy land that
will be okay, BUT options will be restricted. You
are NOT allowed to own waterfront property. That property is reserved for citizens naturally born into
this country.

7. Foreigners may NOT protest; NO demonstrations,
NO waving a foreign flag, NO political organizing,
NO 'bad-mouthing' our president or his policies.
If you do you will be sent home.

8. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be hunted down and sent straight to jail.

Harsh, you say ?

The above laws happen to be the immigration laws of, MEXICO !

Perhapse we should take a page from their book!!
Sure, let them stay, In jail untill they are deported.
Of course not ALL! If they are wanted for other things, send 'em back!

But let's get real: We can't send all of them back!
So... If they can read and write english, pass an American history test, and swear allegience, they're probably pretty upstanding citizens, or will be. Let's keep those guys.

It's the others, who don't fall in those catagories. Sorry, but I think the only practical thing is to issue some kind of work residency (NOT CITIZENSHIP!) and get on with it.

Now, seal up the borders except for limited work permits...
Not all should be allowed to stay.I don't care so much about their ability to assimilate into American culture, but rather whether or not they have committed SERIOUS crimes.I know illegal immigration is a crime, but it's not murder,it's not rape,it's not drug dealing and its not a SERIOUS crime.Undocumented persons should be deported if they are REAL criminals, not just people trying to make a better life for themselves.
I have read all the previous answers and no one has any compassion for the people who have fled their own countries. Most of these people who have been in the USA illegally for many years have children born in the USA and are citizens by right of birth. Their parents are illegal. Who is going to take care of the children born here? Welfare. That means you! I would rather legalize them and keep their kids off the welfare roles. This is a broad question that needs to be fixed and now. So many are here because in their own countries they have NO JOB OPPORTUNITIES! They only take the JOBS that you would not do yourself because they are low paying.

Bush has the right idea! Make a way where they can become legal. As far as all the criminals put them on a boat and set it afloat with no destination.
Send every last illegal back.
The ones who are currently not in prison should be deported.
Those in prison should stay until their sentence is completed, because their home nation would release them, then be deported.
Those waiting on death row should be returned to their host nations for burial when the time is appropriate.
No because thats it... ILLEGAL. So the second they cross that border they become criminals. No one needs a criminal and that goes for any race and american and non-american citizens. We should probably follow the law and deport the illegal ones and not let them back over and let the ones that have been trying to become legal come over. That is rewarding crime, if we're gonna be that stupid lets just let everyone out of the jails... whats the difference?
No. They broke our laws and expect us to open our arms. Last time I checked you break the law you go to jail. In their case deport them after they serve some time breaking rocks in one of our prisons for a year.
Law breakers should be deported.
I'm sick of the way lawmakers are bending over backwards to justify the crimes of illegal aliens. The illegal aliens flaunt their illegal status (in Los Angeles we see them walking around wearing teeshirts that say "I'm Illegal. So What?"), refuse to learn English, they "take to the streets" to DEMAND their "rights" and intimidate legal citizens.
Never have I heard of another generation of immigrants who so hate this country and its citizens. It used to be that immigrants came to this country because they love the US and what it stands for (freedom of speech. religion, press etc.).
These illegal immigrants have forced themselves on us, they take from us everything they can get, and then demand more. take take take take and then they call us racists if we don't like it.
There are many people on this planet who need the opportunities and safety that US citizenship would offer them -
who respect our people, our language, our laws, our traditions. Unfortunately, these people will be displaced by the hateful illegals who trash our laws
it's not a question if they should stay it's a question if the US can deport them all back where they came from. and it would be NO because it is impossible to do and the government has been saying it many times all undocumented people will not be deported.
Reward known criminals and ignore the fact that they have broken federal laws - along with all those that hire them that they ignore those laws as well.

Rational choice - if one is a political and is being bought and paid for by big business.

Citizens of course that have to live the reality of such a stand - totally against such.

My view - send them not just back, but make them work till all funds that they have leached from our social system is paid back in full in work camps (since they are all such 'hard workers') - then send them to their home country capital city - let THEIR government deal with their OWN social problems. Time for their OWN government to deal with their social problems vs. exporting them to America.

"I'm all in favor of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools. Let's start with typewriters."

Frank Lloyd Wright (1868-1959)
No and yes
Itsa done deal.

Impossible to roundup and deport 13 million people. Just think about that number.
Have you ever heard about the first settlers in the U.S.?
Just a FYI its not a felony to be here illegal in this country. It becomes a felony if you are deported and come back into this country illegally and are caught. People are talking about "they broke the law" Coming from a immigration lawyer standpoint its not a felony AND you don't do any jail time for it either. The reason illegals are put in jail is to keep watch over them when caught until they are able to be deported. People make it out to be a major deal like its a federal crime to be here illegal. its not... until unless you re-enter and are caught THEN its fed time for you. In fact if a illegal is detained there is no "record" like a criminal would have. They have a record of course with ICE but its not criminal per say. Read up before you go on and on about "breaking laws" and "crime"
