She may look 14, but if she's over 18, the government doesn't care in the slightest. In fact, if they're legally married and the state government recognizes this relationship, she could be even younger depending on the state.
Still, most likely, she's just 18-20 or so and looks young. For a 30 year old man to marry an 18 year old in China is not uncommon, because over there, it's still seen as important to find a husband who can provide for a wife, rather than just youth and compatibility.
Asian women usually look younger than they really are... some even say they can look up to ten years younger.
Asian women do have the luxury of looking younger. But if they were legally married in China we have to honor that union. Unfortunatly there are still areas of the world where child prostitution and selling children for sex or marraige is still done. I don't know what the Chinese people feel about this or what laws they may have concerning this. I mean weren't they ones who arrainged marraiges in the past ...some even before the children were born?
It's more a problem when they come here and expect to practice the same thing..........as citizens.
Why would you care- every culture have diverse beliefs- the US gov. has nothing to do with this.
The Asian culture is different from ours in many ways. And as has been stated people of some ethic backgrounds age in different ways. I really think you are very very wrong to say that this man is a pedophile . That sort of wild accusation could damage his entire life here in the US.
Who else have you told about this in your workplace ? That sort of unfounded gossip can get you a big lawsuit from this man .
Why didn't you ask him how old she was instead of jumping to conclusions.
