My Dad is really old and is getting kidney dialysis three times in a week. He would like to see our older brother (outiside of U.S.) to visit him. He cannot travel anymore and would really like to see his son while he's still alive. I would like to know what we can do to get him to visit our Dad legally even for a very short time. Is there a special immigration form that we have to fill up or a letter maybe? Please advise!
Answer:
Your brother, if he is not entitled to US citizenship, must apply for a tourist visa at the nearest US embassy or consulate.
Depending on what country and nationality your brother is, he should apply for a passport with your dad as a sponsor if he's a U.S. citizen.
He may need a visa also. He may also have to get approval at the U.S. embassy where he lives now.
All this takes a while and some money.
Good Luck!
