Green-card Question?

As an American citizen what are my rights after I apply to give a green-card to a non-citizen husband. In case he betrays me or hurts me, can I pull out and how and at what stage?

Answer:
When you petition for your husband, you will be signing an Affidavit of Support (I-864). To to www.uscis.gov and click on the forms tab and download the form. This details your financial obligations.

If the petition is approved and he obtains a green card it will be a "conditional card." 90 days prior to the second anniversary, the both of you (or by himself if you are divorced) will file an application to remove the conditions. At that time you (or he) will have to prove that it was a genuine marriage.

YOU can pull out at anytime. All you have to do is tell him, get divorced, divide up your property, and notifiy immigration. BUT there is a good possibility you may still be stuck with the financial support and he may still keep his status.
you don't "give" a green card (resident alien card) to anyone, the government does that.

In the event that you just got married, the government put a two year conditional status on his card. If your marriage lasts less than two years, chances are he will forfeit his I-551 (resident alien card)
i agree with the 1st comment.
i think if you're not sure, then don't get married yet.
make sure he won't betray you and marry you for the greencard.
