Why is it that the pro-illegals bring up about what the USA has done to the American Indians or the slaves?
Answer:
They don't have any logical arguments left. They state ridiculous things like "this country was built by immigrants." DUH! We all know that. We also know that this country was built by LEGAL immigrants.
"Mexicans are like the slaves brought over from Africa." Bologna! The Mexicans have the choice to leave. They weren't forced to come here! This was not the case for the slaves.
And the biggy - "Anti-illegals are racists!" WRONG! We want people to obey the law. This has nothing to do with race!

Because, no one had a problem with importing "illegal immigrants" or when white illegal immigrants popped the tag on the Indians...
When you have no logical argument to present, you do what the pros are doing. You call names. You play the race card and you bring up ancient history that isn't relevant.
It's all they have. Their position is indefensible and they know it.
They bring up what the USA did to the American Indians and slaves to remind those who are against the undocumented workers that the USA has a history of treating those who are different than "mainstream" as something less than human.
Let's be truthful, the main ones against illegal immigrants are white people and black people; no one else cares. Bringing up slavery reminds black people that both they and the immigrants are in the same boat; that is, being screwed over by white people who fail to see what they are doing is evil. Not all white people are evil, not even most of the ones against the illegal immigrants; but what they are doing is evil. God gave land to all humans, He didn't apportion anything out but instead just said this belongs to all of you. But now Americans are trying to take away God's gift from some people because they happened to be born outside of the arbritrary lines we set up (usually with war and killing--so you know how much God loves that).
Now the immigrants are trying to bring the black people to their side by showing that the immigrants are fighting for the same rights blacks had to and still have to fight for sometimes. We are asking for an alliance from black people in exchange for an alliance with their fight.
At the same time, we are also trying to remind white people that they have not always been as good as they like to believe they are. In the past they took away land from the Native Americans (which many Mexicans are descended from--I myself am descended from Aztec, Apache, Tijumaru-mujaru, Sioux, and Cherokee), and then enslaved Africans to work that land. Now of course the modern white person is not responsible for that, it was their ancestors who screwed up. But we are trying to warn you to turn away from your current path before you do precisely what you yourselves attack your ancestors for. I assume you regret slavery, and even if you don't most of your white brothers and sisters do. I also assume you regret genocide. Now is the time to make up for what your ancestors did; your responsibility it may not be, but if you could fix it wouldn't you want to do so?
They are trying to get more support from americans one way or another. If they came combine the two they feel its helping there cause but in the here and now they are not related.
It's their only argument and it ain't gonna fly.
I bring it up all the time.Not to defend illegal immigration but to bring up that the USA has a history of mistreating those who are different .Pro-illegals bring it up because in some warped way,they compare their struggle to those of the African-Americans and Native-Americans.The BIG difference in this picture is that their struggle is self-inflicted (they weren't brought here like the slaves,nor were they already here like the Indians).

they have nothing better to use. they bring up something that happened hundreds of years ago. something our ancestors did. why do you think the jets stopped hovering over their heads? they are incapable of grasping 2007.

Yep, the Indians and Africans were mistreated. This is something that illegals are trying to throw up in order to prove their case. It probably won't work in this case though because the law is the law and illegal is illegal. Also, I know many black people who oppose the reform bill just as much as I do. The sad thing is that it doesn't, and shouldn't be about race. It is only about the law
It is a total insult to native Americans and to the relatives of former slaves.Neither group were here illegally.
